Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

A multi-pronged approach is required to address the systematic exclusion that Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and other minorities (e.g. LGBTQ+, ableness) have faced throughout the centuries. I seek to address DEI within the sciences by:
- Supporting inclusive research that involves community parnters in an equitable way
- Providing career mentorship and guidance to students regardless of the path they choice to pursue
- Creating explicit lab guidelines that outline lab expectations for all levels
- Collaboration with the SDSS Diversity, Equity and Inclusion office in supporting their initiatives
- Fostering an actively inclusive environment for developing and promoting underrepresented scientists
